Data Analytics FAQ

Everything you need to know about AI-powered queries, project limits, and data privacy.

What is the difference between a File and a Project?

A File is an individual dataset (CSV, XLSX, etc.) in your workspace. A Project is a specialized analytics container where you can group multiple files together to run cross-table queries, generate AI insights, and build visual dashboards.

Do I need to know SQL to use the Data Analytics workspace?

No. The AI SQL Assistant is designed to turn plain English prompts into valid SQL. However, if you are a power user, you can always view and manually edit the generated SQL to fine-tune your results.

Can I join two different spreadsheets in one query?

Yes. As long as both files are added to the same Project, you can ask the AI to join them. For example: 'Join my Sales_May file with my Product_Catalog file on the SKU column.'

What is the difference between 'Create New' and 'Modify Current'?

When the AI generates a result, 'Create New' saves that result as a separate table in your project sidebar, leaving your original data untouched. 'Modify Current' applies the filters or transformations directly to the table you are currently viewing.

Is there a limit to how many rows I can analyze?

The Data Analytics workspace is currently optimized for datasets up to 100,000 rows for real-time AI processing. For millions of rows, we recommend using our 'Database Export' adapter to move data to a dedicated SQL environment.

Why does the AI Assistant sometimes ask for more details?

If your column names are ambiguous (e.g., a column named 'Val' could mean Value, Validity, or Valentine), the AI may ask you to clarify which column you mean to ensure the query logic is 100% accurate.

Can I save my charts as a template?

Yes. Once you configure a chart, you can save the Project logic. When you upload a new version of your data source with the same headers, your charts will refresh automatically to show the latest trends.

Does Supabind use my data to train AI models?

Absolutely not. We use enterprise-grade LLM deployments where your data is processed in a transient, isolated environment. Your raw data is never used to train or improve the underlying models.

Can I export the results of my AI queries?

Yes. Any table generated by the AI SQL Assistant can be downloaded as a CSV or Excel file, or saved back into your main Supabind workspace for use in automated Workflows.

What chart types are available?

We currently support Line, Area, Bar, and Pie charts. We are actively adding more complex visualizations like Heatmaps and Scatter plots in upcoming releases.

Can I share my analytics dashboard with a teammate?

Yes. Analytics Projects are shared at the workspace level. Any team member with access to your workspace can view the projects, run queries, and see the visualizations you have built.
